In the past I've done a few Helene Schjerfbeck related posts, linked here (1 -
comparing Schjerfbeck's self-portraits with those made by Pierre Bonnard at
approximately same time and same age; 2 - a few beautiful Schjerfbeck
paintings of still lifes; and 3 - some of Schjerfbeck's other portrait paintings):

Helene Schjerfbeck (1862-1946) was a Finnish painter who is celebrated in
Finland this year for the 150th anniversary of her birth. The first exhibition
honouring this event is currently shown at Villa Gyllenberg Art Museum in Helsinki
Finland. Included in the show is a video featuring thirteen of her self portraits
morphed into each other in chronological order: a young rosy cheeked girl turning
into a old lady, barely a skull sketched onto the canvas. Note that this video,
which is from Helsingin Sanomat website (www.hs.fi), won't be available after
25th of March, 2012, when it will be removed.

THE VIDEO IS UNFORTUNATELY NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
