Incident 1 - Dalek
I've been doing some casual work in a city office, where there are two groups of people: the full timers, and the temporary staff. It's an open space, with some 40-50 people working at desks. It's rather quiet in spite of this large number. One late morning a full timer got up and headed towards the meeting room. As one does, nothing to it. But soon there was another person doing the same and eventually, some 20-30 people, without seemingly uttering a word, left their desks and disappeared into the meeting room. The last one closed the door. After a few minutes an applause erupted in the meeting room. The door opened, and out they came, quietly, and returned to their desks.
Incident 2 - Animal Abuse
Once again, the same quiet office, people busy at their work stations, when a cat in distress was heard miaowing in one of the lockers that line up one of the walls. People's heads popped up, searching for the source and looking at each other in disbelief.
In this case, it wasn't the daleks or cat cruelty: A lady rushed to her locker, and picked up her mobile phone, and rushed outside to answer a call.
