I Guess I 'Married Royalty'

.

We just found out that my partner Andrew is a direct descendant of King
Edward I of England (1239-1307).

We knew this much before:

A. is a direct descendant of Sir John Wyndham (1443-1503) and his wife Margaret
(John's cousin, daughter of Sir John Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk).

Margaret (1443-1524) was the sister of Thomas Howard,
Earl of Surrey and 2nd Duke of Norfolk,
whose granddaughter, by the way, was one Anne Boleyn (1507-36).

What we did not know until I noticed this is Wikipedia:

The Wyndham family are descended from Sir John Wyndham (1443–1503) and his wife Margaret (1443–1524)
daughter of John Howard, Duke of Norfolk, a direct descendant of Edward I

By the way, Andrew's Blüthner grand piano was bought for Florence Paul by her
husband Herbert Paul, as I posted a few years ago:

  1. Congratulate Andrew on that discovery. It's so fascinating to trace your ancestry, and it's exciting to find out something like that. My mother found out that we're direct descendants of Robert I (Robert the Bruce) of Scotland. My great-grandmother must have known already. Her maiden name was Helen Bruce Campbell, and she named my grandfather Robert, but she never mentioned it to anyone. My mother did extensive genealogical work years after her grandmother died and uncovered the information.
