Today's Walk - Local Beaches...

.

Jessica Watson reached home today (she's from Queensland, but her journey
ended in here in Sydney) on her 210 day round the world solo voyage as the
unofficially youngest person to sail around the world (she's 16, but there's no
longer an official category for underage sailors).

Here's a link to the Sydney Morning Herald report: link.

(not Jessica's boat, but she wasn't so far away either when I took the photo today)

I did my 2:10 hour walk today to a couple of beaches within walking distance
from our place: Newport and Bilgola beaches.

I think I'll be switching to the beach walks from now on for the winter, since the
summer heat has subsided, and there's less chance for excess sunburn.

The walk was great: down the road to Newport beach, up the path to the
northern headland towards Bilgola Beach and down to the boxing ladies there,
and back. The natural high from the walk was enhanced by listening to
Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto #3 and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto #1 in B Flat
Minor, both played by Martha Argerich on my iPod, on my way back home up to
Bilgola Plateau.
