These photos by Jehad Nga are from the current issue of The New Yorker
magazine. The article (see here) reminded me of having neglected doing a post
on my correspondence with John Auchard, who has written about Mali for
The Washington Post. We were exchanging notes about a particular photo
(see the end of this post) by the legendary Malian photographer Seydoy Keita
that we both have in our collections.
